Day 63 - 65: Ain't No Sunshine...

This post was going to be amazing. I was going to show all these awesome photos with my dad's old 35mm from Adam, Coco and my picnic on the beach yesterday. But for some reason this 35mm has batteries and it cannot, will not take a picture without one. Something I should've checked on before we got to the beach. Yes, it's only a 5 minute walk, but still! Lamesauce!

I've said it many times before and I'll say it again: Adam's iPhone 4 takes freaking AMAZING photos. Professional quality? Maybe not. But for a phone!? Get real!

It was supposed to be 80 degrees, but it's much colder by the lake. It was 60 when we went on our walk and dropped another 5 or so degrees when we got to the beach. And it definitely wasn't a great picture-taking day - there was some serious fog going on.

I love the lake. I call it the ocean. It started on accident when I first moved here - people laughed at me and corrected me. Now it's become my "thing". It might as well be the ocean - it is vast and looks endless. Yesterday was serene, peaceful, quiet. Beautiful. Pictures do no justice to the way I feel about it.

PB&J

Sand on Coco's nose

Dead feesh.

Millions of seashells. Walking on them is like walking in fallen leaves in Autumn.

This is our family. It's become more real that this is what our family will always be and nothing more. So many thoughts about this but I'm not sure I'm ready to speak about it. I love my Adam and my Coco.

Day 60 - 62: Let Me Eat Cake!

I've realized I offically suck at this 365 Project. I just am not following through on posting every day! I've been gardening (more on that later) and it's been eating up most of my time at home. Today we saw The Hangover, Part 2 (super funny, although a little too sexually graphic for my liking), went to Adam's parents and ate hamburgers and brats, and watched How To Train Your Dragon (adorable!).

An old friend that I stalk via Facebook posted a link to an awesome blog today. I've been reading and drooling at her pictures all afternoon. Sweetapolita. I wanted to share some beautiful art with you today.

Three layer asparagus cake. Made with fondant and colored to look like real asparagus. Read about it here.

Eight layer asparagus cake. Revision of the above-mentioned cake. Read about it here.

Bridal couture cake. Details on this cake plus several others in a baking class in her post. Read about it here.

Inside out Neapolitan cake. Read about it here.

Rich chocolate malted & toasted-marshmallow cake. Read about it here.

Rainbow doodle birthday cake. Read about it here.

Dark chocolate & raspberry buttercream cake. Read about it here.

I hope you can appreciate the talent this woman has as much as I have. Tomorrow I hope to take some pictures of my silly pots and plants to share. For now I think I need to pass out! Hooray for long weekends!

Day 58 & 59: Peace

One of my really good friends, Cari, got me some vinyl for free. She works at Uppercase Living. I told her I wanted a quote in green:

"Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it. - Confucius"

And a GIANT peace sign.

Before

After!
Adam isn't a fan of the peace sign. I worked for two hours to put it up (it came in 8 separate sections that I had to carefully piece together on the wall) and I put it up all by myself. For the last piece I asked Adam to help hold a piece in place. After it was done we stepped back to look at it and he said, "I don't like it much."

Sob.

Yes, this is in my scrapbooking room that he never goes in, and I didn't put it up for him, but it hurt my feelings! We talked it out and he said he didn't mean to hurt my feelings and all is well. How ironic that we had a spat over a symbol of peace.

Today I got flowers delivered to my work and the only message that was delivered was "PEACE". My coworker was jealous that I have such an awesome man!

Peace sign: Love it or hate it?

Day 57: Lady Gaga Goes Country?

Mondays are days that I don't get much done. We always go over to my in-laws for dinner and the new episode of House (interesting season ender tonight, yeah!?)

I was able to package up the scrapbook (with my awesome colorful duct tape, nonetheless!).

Color!
And I bought a new CD drive since mine can't write CDs anymore and a new battery for my camera since it died. Although I like Adam's iPhone 4 camera so much - it takes such amazing photos for a phone. Sheesh. And the spoiled baby got it for free!

When I was cleaning up today I found a receipt from Kohl's, one of my favorite store, and wanted to share!

Saved over 5x what I spent! HA!

Since Adam got a fancy iPhone 4 I inherited his iPhone 3G (to be used as an iPod Touch, I don't have phone service) to replace my iPod Shuffle my brother gave me years ago. The shuffle was great when scrapbooking because it clipped right onto my clothes so it went where I went. With the iPhone I didn't have an easy way to hook it to my body without getting a dumb workout strap for my arm. So I got a super fancy docking station. And dude I love Amazon - this thing got amazing reviews and was 50% off at $60ish.

Beauty
On Facebook, Amazon said that for today only they were selling Lady Gaga's new CD on MP3, Born This Way, for 99 cents. Really? A dollar for the entire CD? I was all over that shizz.

I love her crazy!

Her 13th track that I'm listening to right now sounds country. So strange.

I spoil myself. I justify it because we have the money and I get insane deals.

Tomorrow I think I'm going to work on my wedding scrapbook again. It's been well over a month - it needs some love!

Day 56: Lobby is my Hobby

I went to my favorite store today, Hobby Lobby, and I wanted to share some fabulous purchases for 66% off.

Cupcakes! The figure on the right is from Erin, not what I got today.

Bucket for pens, pencils, scissors and rulers.

Box for something I don't know yet but I have more organizing to do yet.

I didn't buy this today but I finally assembled another paper organizer that I got about a month ago.

Candles! The one on the right is a fake one.

I hated my jewelry box so I made my own! Found these two fabulous pieces today and had Adam nail the shelf in the bathroom.

Bad lighting!

I ordered this online last week and I love it! Holds my ink blenders.

Coco has no head. She was shaking her head right as I snapped the photo.

Adam has started to call Coco his evil cat.

Getting ready to put up my vinyl! Hopefully I can post pictures tomorrow!
The world did not end today. I did buy more water for storage but looks like I won't be needing it until the next Doomsday.

Day 50 - 55: Para Legal Ness

I would've loved to have updated earlier this week but with my new job I had a hard enough time making time for simple things like eating. I was able to make fajitas (special recipe with brown sugar!) yesterday and had a bowl of ice cream for dessert.

I love my job. I work in a small law firm in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. It takes about 35 minutes to drive to work which isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. When I first moved to Wisconsin two years ago, I found a job in Green Bay and my commute was an hour. No fun!

I didn't scrapbook at all the last two days. I didn't feel like I would ever be able to get this album done and I was getting so stressed out. I wasn't spending any time with Adam and we both were on edge and grumpy at each other constantly. It was good to take a bit of time off and play games with him. Today I decided to crack down and work on it... and I finished it! HA! I'll be keeping it at least for the weekend to work on more details that I overlooked just to call it "done".

These didn't load in order that they'll be put in the album but you get the idea:

I've uploaded this photo several times but it won't load right-side up. I love these typewriter keys from Tim Holtz!

It's actually 140.6 miles total, but I didn't have room!
I'll probably work on this page this weekend, it's pretty bland.

See "crackle" effect on tag?

Crackle effect on border.

"Getting wrecked at the dive" means they got drunk at a bar called "The Dive". Erin told me to make that caption. And do you see that drive thru store on top? You LITERALLY drive through the store. Ridic!

I just ordered the white and black Inkssentials enamel accents - I love this product!

I embossed the stamp in the lower left and I burnt the photo! It bubbled and smelt. Oops. Can you tell?

Erin said Kate was relatively disappointed that she didn't collapse or wasn't unbearably exhausted after the triathalon. Apparently she trained so well that it wasn't as bad as she expected. I suppose that's a good problem to have!!

The glue oozed out onto the ribbon I dyed made it bleed weird. Good thing I'm not going for a perfectionist theme.

This page didn't turn out as well as I was hoping. The background was blue and I used blue distress inks to age, but I think it just came out looking dirty. Oh well, I'm not redoing it!

So excited for this to be done! Adam loves it so I hope Erin and Kate love it too.
