Card?

I started assembling the stickers and everything looked flat. So I added the yellow circle background thing. Then a white paper on top of that, then the beach chair and bikini.

A few close ups of the stickers:

You want the sentiment to be hand-written, correct?

And the inside to look like this?

I didn't find a sticker of only hands or feet, so I'd have to draw that.

Or instead of drawing the water, I could use the wavy paper and splash stickers.

I really appreciate your feedback... I want to make sure it doesn't look crappy.

Oh, and..

I LOVE YOU
I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU TOMORROW!

Try two!

Erin:

First I want to show you what I found for your mom's card. My camera really screwed up on this one but hopefully you get the idea. I found another 3D sticker - a beach chair. I looked for like an hour for a fence of some sort and I could only find one as big as the water droplet on the right. What do you think?

The rest is the progress on the thank you cards.

This is the base of the card. I wanted to make sure you were ok with them being this paper/color and not white. Otherwise I can change it :)

These are the colors I chose

I can't remember why I took this photo - these are the top layers I did yesterday

This is the middle phase of the top layer. Some have been inked during embossing, some haven't.

Thoughts? Changes? Ideas?

<3 you!!

Ty Ty Ty

Again, if you are not Erin, sorry. This is another post for her. Because she is awesome.

I started to make some prototypes for those thank you cards you wanted. I wanted your opinion on this series.

This is the main card. Sentiment would be identical to this. Would be on kraft paper (brownish paper, the same paper that the sentiment is on). Color can be changed to whatever you want (this one is red). The top layer is over a patterned paper then adhered to the kraft cardstock. The top layer is embossed and distressed with inks.

Same thing, just another shot... don't know if you can really see the texture/embossing well.

The rest are just the top layers. The first three have been inked a bit, the rest have only been embossed. I can use any, all, or a combination of any of these embossing textures. I can use any color of paper and ink whatever color you want. Or I can do just white paper and don't ink at all. That might look cool. Also can switch it up to open from the right instead of the bottom. Whatever you want.

Like anything you see?

Testing

If anyone other than Erin is reading this, sorry! This is a boring post just for her so she can give me feedback.

K, so Erin - I spent like two hours at Hobby Lobby yesterday, trying to find anything that would work for the card you want for your mom. I found two things, both stickers. I was playing around with them today to see if anything would work - let me know what you think. You can click on the picture itself to get a better view. I know it doesn't fit very well on my blog page.

I cut out the stickers so they're off the sheet, but still not used/stuck to the paper. The sentiment can be changed to whatever, I just thought this might fit. I can print it with whatever font you want so it's not handwritten, again, this is just to get your opinion.

These aren't actually cards, just scrap paper that I threw everything on.

Front of card one. Chair with book, sunglasses (can omit), bikini top and bottom.

Inside of card one. Obviously I drew this. I used watercolor pencils - obviously not trying too hard but at least so you can get the idea. I'm not talented enough to try to draw your mom entirely naked ;)

Front of card two. The water splash stickers would be placed similar to the inside of card one. No hands, though, nothing drawn.

Inside of card two. Cute bikini. The "water" would meet up with the "sand", I'm trying to show that your mom is in the water making a splash, and her bikini is lying on the sand. Insinuating she's naked. I'm not sure I got the point across, but I like these stickers better than the first.

Playing around with placement

I tried a few techniques/colors with the sand. The original piece is on the top and the bottom three are altered.

Thoughts?

I wanted to give your idea a stab, you seemed really excited about trying to make me do this card this way.

Since I know my execution isn't the best, let me know if you have any other ideas or if you want to use the previous card I started. Or I can just make a few more random bday cards and you can choose whatever.

LOVE YOU!
